If elected what are your top three priorities?
As your representative, and leveraging my 30+ years of business, financial and volunteer experience, my first priority will be on expanding North Carolina’s economic prosperity, job growth, and pro-business, pro-entrepreneurship atmosphere.
Of course, to ensure a vibrant economy, our ecosystem needs to include strong educational institutions, safe communities, and resources to ease the growing pains of our popular city. These will be priorities as well so that Charlotte and NC continue to be destination locations for those seeking good jobs, opportunity, and the pursuit of the American dream.
What experience do you have that qualifies you for the position?
First as a CPA in a “Big 4” accounting firm and then as a C-suite executive in two of North Carolina’s largest manufacturing companies, I learned what it takes to create favorable environments for businesses, employees, customers, suppliers and communities to create ecosystems that bring success and prosperity for everyone involved. By leveraging my experience, I will ensure North Carolina’s economy is strong, helps lift businesses big and small, and creates jobs and opportunity for all North Carolinians.
My career has provided me with decades of experience successfully undertaking large, complex, sometimes international strategic business projects as well as carefully managing day-to-day details of operations and business finances. My background will serve me well when addressing the challenges and harnessing the opportunities facing Charlotte and North Carolina.
Why have you decided to run for office?
During the summer of 2019, I chose to act on a calling to enter public service that I had experienced for years. After discussing my intentions with my family and confirming their support, for which I am eternally grateful, I quietly shared my idea with others. In response, I received wholehearted encouragement that has been as deeply humbling as it has been energizing. It is this support and energy that cemented my decision to run. For those of you that provided this encouragement and support, I cannot thank you enough.
I believe our state, and our government at all levels, is in desperate need of sound leadership. I am running so you will have a trustworthy representative on whom you can depend, and a representative that will listen and advocate for you, your interests, and your values in Raleigh.
